MEMORIALS

Great Spirit of Creation
Send me the warm and soothing winds from the South.
Comfort me and caress me when I am tired and cold.
As you give to all the earth your warm wind,
give to me,
so that I may grow closer to you in warmth.

Great Life Giving Spirit,
I face the West,
the direction of sundown.
Let me remember every day that the moment will come,
when my sun will go down.
Never let me forget that I must fade into you.

Cedar Hedges Fury
May 22, 1975
 January 16, 2005

We purchased Fury from Lee and Barbara Martin in December of 1982.  On May 22, 1983 at the Biggest Little Horse Show in Texas, held in Ft. Worth, Texas, we showed Fury in the 30" & Under Stallion Class.  He won 1st Place.
He went on to win Grand Champion Stallion that day.

Jan Herrington, horse manager for Lowe Ranch, also attended the show in May of 1983.  She purchased Fury after his Championship Class and Fury became the herd sire for Lowe Ranch.

Fury was a sire of consistent quality and exceptional personality.  In November of 1998, Lowe Ranch decided to retire Fury after 15 years of service.  A call was made to High Hopes Acres to inquire if Fury could spend his "retirement years" at High Hopes Acres.  We were honored with the request and quickly drove to Texas to pick him up.  It was good to have an old friend back home.

We bred a handful of mares to Fury during the next four years until 2002 hoping to obtain a few daughters to place in our herd.  Fury officially retired in 2002 from our breeding program, not because Fury wanted to, but in best interest to his health.  High Hopes Daisy TMW is one of the last fillies to be sired by Fury.  She will remain in our herd to carry on her sire's legacy.

On January 16, 2005 at the age of 29 years, 7 months and 25 days, Fury left his earthly stall and went on to greener pastures.
Fury was buried in the front orchard and a memory garden will be built in his honor.

Bond Willido
March 10, 1982
 December 8, 2004

In July of 1983, Lowe Ranch purchased "Willi" from Mr. C.M. Bond.

Willi was a sire of consistent quality, and although he was never lab tested, the records indicate that he must have been homozygous.

In May of 2003, Lowe Ranch decided to retire Willi after 20 years of service.  A call was made to High Hopes Acres to inquire if Willi could spend his "retirement years" at High Hopes Acres.  We were honored with the request and quickly drove to Texas to pick him up.

Willi continued to sire foals at High Hopes Acres and was with his group of mares at the time of his death.

On December 8, 2004, at the age of 22 years, 9 months and 273 days, Bond Willido left this earthly world and went on to greener pastures.
